Stress Management, Time Management, and becoming more organized (back to the main book review page)
Simplify Your Life : 100 Ways to Slow Down and Enjoy the Things That Really Matter by Elaine St. James We've all heard and read about simplifying our lives. How exactly do we do it? Here are dozens of real-life ideas, complete with personal narratives to make them clear and tangible.
The Art of Effortless Living by Ingrid Bacci Ph.D. This lovely and useful book is filled with various ways to reduce your stress, and obtain an enhanced quality of life.
Organizing from the Inside Out: The Foolproof System for Organizing Your Home, Your Office, and Your Life by Julie Morgenstern This is one of my personal favorites in the area of organizing. Morgenstern is not attempting to change your style, or impose a set of rules on it. She is, however, seeking to help you find an organizing system that works perfectly with your own style, so you can be free to be as effective as you wish to be, in the way you want to be.
Time Management from the Inside Out: The Foolproof System for Taking Control of Your Schedule and Your Life by Julie Morgenstern This sequel beautifully and logically follows the first book in assisting with finding the special brand of organization that works best for you. Ingenious exercises are provided, which are quite different than you may have found in other organizing materials.
Finally Organized, Finally Free by Marcia Gracia You would be hard pressed to find an organizing idea or tip that is not also included in this exhaustive reference. However, it is not simply a smorgasbord of organizing ideas. This resource will walk you through your organization plan just as your own personal organizer might do.
Confessions of an Organized Homemaker : The Secrets of Uncluttering Your Home and Taking Control of Your Life by Deniece Schofield Confessions of a Happily Organized Family by Deniece Schofield Although these books are aimed at a traditional family, if you have living quarters and "stuff" you will profit from the wealth of suggestions regarding storage, organization, and more. If you also are married with children, the suggestions on delegation, family meetings, dealing with family "stuff" and other issues will be most helpful as well.
The Relaxation & Stress Reduction Workbook by Martha Davis, Matthew McKay , Ph.D, Elizabeth Robbins Eshelman This resource is filled with ways to reduce your stress and increase your level of relaxed efficiency.
Dr. Sehnert's New Guide to Managing Your Stress by Keith W. Sehnert Dr. Sehnert examines the stresses that modern life places on our lives, souls, and bodies and presents a clear, workable five step program for reducing and managing that stress.
Serenity to Go: Calming Techniques for Your Hectic Life by Mina Hamilton Are you just to busy to be working a stress management program? Or do you want something simple and effective? Serenity to Go offers excellent suggestions and exercises that fit in with our busy, hectic lives.
The 14 Day Stress Cure : A New Approach for Dealing With Stress That Can Change Your Life by Morton C. Orman
Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen Some of us love to be extremely busy, multi-tasking our way through our lives, achieving all we can achieve. The idea of "simplicity" doesn't seem especially attainable or desirable. At same time, we wish we didn't feel quite so overwhelmed and exhausted by all of it. Is this you? Then you might profit from reading Getting Things Done. Mr. Allen discusses what is missing from many time management and stress management programs, and delivers a plan that might assist you in being relaxed, productive, completely on top of your game, and stress-free.
